THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION IN BELGIUM.
MIXES FOR DESTRUCTION OF ANTWERP DOCKS.-- - ENEMY GUARDING THE BELGIAN RAILWAYS. London, September 30. The correspondent of the London Times at Antwerp says that the Germans have a vast array of automobiles and motor-cycles. The army of occupation in Belgium includes a large number of boy scouts from 15 to 17 mounted on bicycles, and also 6000 marines with floating mines and torpedoes for the destruction of the Antwerp docks. The Germans have enlisted citizens as railway police. These patrol the lines under guard, and are hostages for the safety of the railway. So far the main lines are undamaged owing to the'prodigal expenditure, but interruption for even a day or two will spell disaster. Advices from Antwerp state that positions between the three lines of fortifications have been levelled so as not to interfere with the fire of the guns. Villas and houses have been demolished. Experts are of opinion that the seizure of Antwerp would involve an enrmous loss of life, which the Germans in their present condition dare not risk.
