VOTING OF THE FORCES. OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERY MAN, (BY _ TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT ' "Ellington, Tuesday. In the House of Representatives to-night Mr. G. W. Russell (Avon) asked the Government if the voting under the' Expeditionary Forces Voting Art was still taking place. He understood it was taking place at the Christ-church camp yesterday, and he wanted to know if that was general. The Hon. Mr. Fisher: The votes axe going to be taken until e\ery man has had a chance of voting. Sir Joseph Ward : Why was the voting hurried? The Hon. Mr. Fisher: It was not hurried. It was opened as soon as possible, i and will be open until every man has his. ! vote recorded.

GERMAN PATENTS. Sir Joseph Ward asked if the Government would introduce legislation removing all the German patent rights registered in this country. There was for instance, something necessary in the dairying industry that might be manufactured here. He had forgotten the name of it. An Hon. Member; Rennet. Sir Joseph Ward: "Yes, rennet. That has always been imported from Germany, but if it is to be manufactured here tho industry will require some protection." There were, he 1-elievcd, many articles such as this, the importation of which hr.d been stopped, but which, he believed, could be manufactured here. He suggested that Dr. MacLanrin and Professor Castorfield be appointed u committee to inquire into, and report upon, the matter. Mr. Massey said this matter had already been under the consideration of the Government. which had communicated with the Imperial Government on the subject. So far, however, they had not received any reply. He believed that Canada was in " the same position. As soon as the [ Government got a reply he would let hon. members know what could ba Gone.
