KAISER'S GRATEFUL MESSAGE

"GOD WAS WITH US."

(Received August 17. 1.5 a.m.) Copenhagen, August 16. The Kaiser has sent a message to tho German commander at Mulhausen saying:—"l return thanks to God, who was with us. I thank you and your gallant troops for our first victory." Mr. Edgar Wallace, the Birmingham Post's correspondent at the front, says the railway line has been kept open to carry tho Kaiser and his war staff, whoso headquarters are luxuriously fitted up on a trainThere are special boxes for chargers and a motor-car. The special train is guarded by armoured trains. The Kaiser uses a small tent when the simple life is deemed to bo expedient.
