LACROSSE.
NOTTS AND COMMENTS.
The competition for tho lacrosse premiership will no continued this afternoon, when North Shore will play Grafton at Victoria. Park, and West End will meet Ponsonby at the Domain. North Shore did well against Ponsonby on Saturday. Careful preparation and constant practise told against the Ponsonby side, which lacked these essentials. Tho wing play of Russell and Bell was a big factor in the undoing of the blues. Liversedge, Wildman, and McCready formed the nucleus of a stubborn defence. The Auckland team is making a late run for championship honours. On Saturday they inflicted defeat on the Grafton combination, after drawing with Ponsonby the previous week. This is another instance of careful practise ami training receiving its due reward,"
