Mr. Davidge, ; who was due to arrive from Vancouver ; next Tuesday. The Government had ! promised a grant- cf £550 towards the t expenses of the lecturing tour which ha ; and Mr. Davidge proposed to undertake !in New Zealand. The total expenses, I however, would amount to about £700, which would net include a::y remuneration for the lecturers. The principal centres in the South were each -jntributiag £75, and a similar sum was asked from Auckland citizens to enable a three-days' programme to be carried out here. The City Council had on the previous night voted £25, but that was subject to the approval of the Auditor-General. It was proposed to give twenty lectures in the Dominion, three of them in Auckland.
