FAMILY VOTES.
' ■ Sir,-T-in the Dominion there are about 406,000 children or young people under the age of 21 years who, though contributing through' tho Customs largely to tho re-, venue of the country, have no vote and itfe without' representation. Their parents may .vote, but only the same as any other ipan or woman over 21 yeare of age, married or single. They represent themselves, hut, in no souse represent their childrenSimgio men ftjtd wpmen can usually move : ,as circumstances or wjsh may induce them, | heaootheir value to the country'is greatly Ipss than that of the married man or j woman who is usually a fixturp. Every . encouragement should be given to men to marry and remain in the Dominion, To this' end endow the father,' or, falling him, the mother, with an extra vote for every child, under 31— increasing the number of voters, but votes. By doing thus we would secure to tno permanent citizen his proper weight in tiio governing of his country. Wo have in this country con* ceded to evory man and woman tho right . to voto, Lot us go-orto batter and grant the vote to tbQ&o under 21, whose parents are answerable for their debts and doings till thoy como of ego. Owjn MtmtiA*.
