AN URGENT WORK. \
[by telegraph.—press association.] Chbistchurch, Wednesday. In reply to a deputation regarding the completion of the Midland Railway, the Prime Minister said that the Government was convinced of the necessity of pushing the work forward. All doubt regarding the success of the tunnel had been removed. He held out no hope of the acceleration of the construction works."
