MILITARY TRAINING.
STAFF-OFFICERS IN WAIKATO.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— COREESPOIJB2if¥:I
Hamilton, Wednesday. The officers 'taking part in the district staff tour between here and Cambridge arrived here to-night. A brief outline of the imaginary operations shows that to consequence of a reverse of the British naval forces by a European Power, an Eastern Power has embarked on a policy of expansion in the Southern Pacific. Having captured Wellington, they have driven the Dominion forces back to J&ankton, where they learn of a. large New Zealand force to the east of their position a Matangi. - A division moves forward to deal with this force, and *the operations are successful, but the, arrival of an Australian division alters the complexion of affairs, and at the close of operations to-night the invader* were in check.
The operations will be brought to a close at noon .to-morrow.
