MILITARY TRAINING.
DISTRICT STAFF TOUR. [BT TELEGRAPH.OWN' CORRESPONDENT. ] Cambridge. Tuesday. The Auckland district staff tour com-1 menced at Frank ton Junction on Monday, Colonel Logan, oemmandar of the Auckland district, being director, with Captain King as personal staff. The general staff were Lieutenant-Colonel Braithwaite, D.5.0., and Major McDonald, N.Z.S.C., while the administrative staff were Captain R. S. Matthews, A .A. and Q.M.G., and Captain Wr ; ?iit, A.D.S. and T. There are about 50 officers taking part in the drive, and they are divided into syndicates, who operate in the hilly re' gion about Cambridge, Tauwhare, and Morrinsville. In the evening the whole of the officers assembled in the Town Hall and discussed the various movements from 7.30 p.m. until 10 p.m., after which they had another two hours' work to do preparing papers that had to be handed in this morning at 7,30. The "enemy " were supposed to be in camp at Matangi last evening, and the staff met there at ten o'clock this morning.
