Maughan Barnetl, city organist, has been appointed conductor of the Auckland Choral Society, to fill tho place of Dr. Thomas, who lias resigned. Mr. Barnett's duties will net commence until the present work in rehearsal, " The Creation," has been given. Mr. Barnett resigned the conduHorship of the Wellington 'Royal Choral Society on being appointed city organist at Auckland.
