McGOORTY BEATS JEFF. SMITH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received March 15, 5.5 p.m.) Stdnet, March 15: The much-looked-for match between the two American middle-weights, Jeff. Smith ana Eddie McGoorty, took place at the Stadium on Saturday night. The fight went the whole 20 rounds, and McGoorty received the verdict on points. The dicision of the referee ( Mr. Arthur Scott) was not well received. The Stadium management met after the contest to consider the decision. As a result of i- the meeting the management decided to relieve Mr Scott of his duties, and appointed Mr. Harold Baker in his place.
