CAMP AT WAIKATO.
PRESENTATION OF MEDALS.
Hamilton, Sunday. , The machine gun section of the 4th Waikato Mounted Rifles have been in camp since Thursday for the purpose of firing their annual machine gun and rifle courses. Some excellent work has been done undex the supervision of Captain Wallingford, musketry instructor.
A smoke concert was held on Friday night when gold medals were presented to the members who secured over 12 points at the Christchurch and Auckland competitions. The recipients were: Sergeants R. Ranstead, E- McGregor, Privates W Riddell, G. Ranstead, W. Pollard. During the evening Sergeant McGregor, on behalf of his father, presented a handsome silver cup for competition among the members, prior to his leaving on a nine months' trip to the Old Country.
