SUICIDES.
MAN TAKES POISON.
[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. A married man, Alfred Jesse Stevens, 54 years of age, living apart from his wife, committed suicide yesterday by ' taking poison. He had been in depressed spirits for some time through lack of employment. Formerly he was an able seaman on the Wairuna.
TELEGRAPH MESSENGER'S END. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Sunday. A telegraph messenger, Alfred Ransley, 45 years of age, who resided at Addington, shot himself with a double-barrelled gun this morning. Deceased had been ill or some time. ,
