MAN TAKES POISON.

[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. A married man, Alfred Jesse Stevens, 54 years of age, living apart from his wife, committed suicide yesterday by ' taking poison. He had been in depressed spirits for some time through lack of employment. Formerly he was an able seaman on the Wairuna.
