HOSPITAL AREA DIVIDED.
POSITION AT WHANGAREI.
[by TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT Whaxgarei, Saturday.
The sequel to a recent Order-in-Council, which provided for the division of the Marsden-Kaipara Hospital and Charitable Aid Board area into two separate districts has been the fixing of March 27 as the date for purposes of taking a poll for the ('lection of eight members to constitute the new Whangarei Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The interested local todies, however, are of the opinion that the heavy expense of an election would not be justified seeing that the statutory general election of Hospital Board members will follow in November next. Consequently it is probable that the Governor will be asked to exercise his powers of appointing the required eight members of the board, a number which would probably include the seven Whangarei representatives who were members of the board recently dissolved.
