VALUE OF THE BIBLE.
EDUCATIONAL FACTOR.
DECLINE IN KNOWLEDGE.

London, January 3. A warm plea for Bible teaching was entered by Viscount James Bryce (exAmbassador at Washington) in an address before a conference of educational associations at London University yesterday. He regretted, he said, that knowledge of the Bible was declining among all classes of the community. He had struck the same thing in the United States.
A great misfortune would have befallen Britain if a generation of children grew up without knowing the Bible. The loss would be incalculable from an educational standpoint alone.
