PARAGUAYAN DEFENCE.
GERMAN REORGANISATION. By Telegraph— Association—Copyright. Berlin, December 30. The Government of the Republic of Paraguay has arranged for the appointment of a German commission to reorganise the Republican army. '
The small army of Paraguay is drilled and trained on the German model. Owing to recent changes it is impossible to 3ay of what the army consists. .Formerly it had four battalions of. infantry, ; six squadrons of cavalry, fiyo field - batteries, and a coast defence battery, the. whole numbering about 100. officers and 2500 men. There is also a' national guard, which would be called out for the defence of the country •in time of . war.
