SYDNEY SUBURBS FAVOURABLE.
By Telegraph—Press Association— (Rocoived December 10, 7.20 p.m.)
Sydney, December 10. The final figures at Enmore, represented by the Minister for Justice (Mr. D. R. Hall) leave the Liberal ahead. A second ballot will be necessary.
A final Liberal majority of four or five in the new House of Assembly is predicted by Mr. Wade (Leader of the Opposition). The, second ballot campaign is already in full swing, and both sides are making strenuous efforts to secure the balance of the disputed scats.
Tho local option count has been delayed until the counting of the electoral vote has been-completed. Though the official figures cannot bo obtained, it is known that the city electorates have voted for a continuance of the present system, while a dozen suburban electorates, viz., Ashfield, Burwood, Canterbury, Dulwich Hill, Drummoyne, Granville, Gordon, Hurstville, St. George, Mosman, Petersham, and Ryde, have carried the reduction proposal. It is understood that several country electorates have also been found in favour of a reduction. There is a bare possibility of Gloucester voting for local option.
The Gouibum and Hartley electorates have carried local option.
