♦ ■ JUDGMENT FOR FULL CLAIM. Jotj&ment TB"r the full amount of the claim, £285 2s sd, was given yesterday by Mr. Justice Cooper in the Supreme Court case, Thomas Mclndoe (Mr. H. P. Richmond, instructed by Messrs. Russell and Campbell) v. Alexander Bell (Mr. J. R. Reed, K.C., and Mr. EndeanJ. Plaintiff; a land agent, held that ho was entitled to a commission of 2£ per cent, on; the sale of Tauhei, a farm of 5136 acres, near Te Aroha, which defendant sold at £2 15s per acre to a syndicate. Defendant denied that plaintiff was instrumental in effecting the sale, and on this point the whole cose turned. The examination was completed yesterday morning of George L. Laird, and the evidence of Alexander Bell and W. B. Gieson (the member of the syndicate who completed the purchase) was taken. The evidence of the latter was to the effect that, while he was sent to view the property by Laird, all subsequent negotiations were conducted through. Mclndoe, to wJiom Gieson had been referred by Laird as agent for Tauhei. Other witnesses subpoenaed by the defendant were not called. His Honor held that the plaintiff had reasonable cause to believe that he was sole agent for the property; and there was some evidence of an interview between! Gieson and Mclndoe before Laird came into the matter, in which the Tauhei property was discussed. Plaintiff had been treated throughout as the agent for the . property, .. , Judgment was given for the amount claimed,' with costs according to scale. .
