% The Mandcau County Council is proposing to repair the Otahuhu Bridge across the Tamaki River. The bridge is in an unstable condition, and the engineer to the county council suggests filling in one of the spans between the piers. The Otahuhu Borough Council considers that this proposal, if carried out, would injure the other part of the bridge by the increased scour. A representative of the Public Works Department has made an examination of the bridge, and he is of opinion that a better plan would be to place an arch between the two piers. Air. N. T. Todd has resigned his position as captain of the Fire Brigade.
