NEED FOR COMBINATION.

URGED ON COACHBU3LDERS. [3T TEt^JQRAPa. PBESS 'ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. \j At the Coachbuflders' Conference to-day further papers on subjects affecting the trade were read. " Combination and Concentration" was the subject selected by Mr. Hurrell (Wellington). . He said it had often struck him that a terrible waste of capital and labour was daily taking place in the trade, owing to lack of combination. Instead of a hundred scattered factories, if they had a wholesale factory where natural gas, oil, or water power was available, the oost of production would be enormously reduced. Combination would bring about up-to-date and systematic equipment, advertising, and marketing. Mr. Hurrell (Hawera), also read a paper on " Organisation," and Mr. Dash (Waimate) on "Facts and Fallacies in Fire Insurance."
