EASTER HOLIDAYS.
The Easter holiday season is being keenly anticipated, and the relaxation afforded by it will be generally appreciated by the people of Auckland after the somewhat trying weather Which has been experienced recently. Good Friday will be a complete holiday, and as it is the occasion of the annual picnic of the tramway employees, there will be no tramway service. The Auckland Racing Club's Autumn Meeting .will be held on the following day and on Easter Monday. On Easter Saturday and Monday a cricket match will be played between teams representing the Petone and Newmarket railway workshops, the trophy being the Myers Shield. On Easter Monday and the following Tuesday, the friendly rivalry between Auckland and Wellington will be further tested on the field in a cricket match between the representatives of the Wednesday clubs of Wellington and Auckland. Two matches, extending over both days, will be. played, one between senior and the other between junior teams. Railway excursion fares will come into force on March 19, and townspeople will be afforded various opportunities for making trips by sea and land.
