ONEHUNGA ELECTIONS.

Although the municipal elections will not be held until April 30, considerable interest is already being taken in the contest at Onehunga. The present council consists of Messrs. John Rowe (Mayor), W. Colledge, senr., R. Dillicar, T. H. Horn, I. Lomas, C. C. Davis, S. R. Skinner, J. E. Baldwin, J. Simpson, and A. McColL Of these it is known that the first-mentioned seven will be candidates for re-election, with Mr. Skinner a possible contestant against Mr. Rowe for the mayoral position. It is anticipated that a somewhat lengthy list of candidates will be nominated for the seats on the council, and already Messrs. W. J. Brewin, G. L. Taylor, C. A. Osborne, E. Dane, E. J. Higgins, and J. Urquhart, in addition to the sitting members named, are sure to enter the lists. The main roll, which closed recently, contains 1819 names, compared with 1721 on the last occasion, while it is anticipated that the supplementary roll will chow, at least ova; 500 morea
