The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher (Minister for Customs and Marine) will arrive in Auckland by the first express train from Wellington to-day. The Minister expects to spend about a week in Auckland, and during that time he will transact a large amount of public business, ,-. and pursue J personal investigations ~ regarding several • matters within the jurisdiction of his de- ! partments'. Mr. Fisher will stay at the I Grand Hotel. j This morning the Minister will receive ! numerous deputations at the ministerial I rooms, Government Buildings, several of '< the local members of Parliament baring j been asked to. introduce representatives of I various interests which desire to make reI presentations to the Minister. The light- ! ing of the Three Kings Islands will be I again discussed with the Minister by a i deputation in charge of Mr. J. H. Bradi ney, which will communicate the opinions i of navigators, upon the alternative schemes i suggested for "their consideration by Mr. j Fisher on his last visit to Auckland. Rei preventatives of the Federated Shipj. owners' Association pronose to submit a i number of grievances due to the harassing ! effects of "recent legislation upon small j shippinnr. and an allied matter., the restrictions imposed on fishing craft, will also be reviewed with the object oh" obtaining i some relief.
