GIFTS FOR THE ARMY.

Official reports state that the spoils for Italy from the war in Tripoli are estimated at 082,500,000, including £350,000' in cash. Two-fifths of the total has been given to the army, two-fifths goes into the National Treasury, and one-fifth will be devoted to invalids' and pensioners' funds.

The latest affray was an attack yesterday by Bedouins on the Italian positions on the northern coast.
The fighting was fierce arid fanatical, but the attackers were in the end driven off, after sustaining heavy losses. .
The Italian" fleet participated in the engagement, shelling the Bedouin positions. '. • * ~ .
