WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

AT a meeting of the Waitemata County Council yesterday a deputation was received from Henderson in connection with the metalling of a road. The chairman (Mr. A. Cochran) stated that the money was in hand for the work, bat the Council was faced with the difficulty of getting metal. ,_ We simply cannot get railway trucks, he added. The Council eventuallypromised the deputation that a surfaceman should' be put to work on the road for a week. .

Intimation was received from the Government to the effect that it was unable to make any farther advances at present on account of the county loans.
