PRISONER WEEPS IN DOCK.

London, -December' 11. .SEXiKNcr: cf death has b£en. passed upon Edward Hopwood, who was convicted of the murder of Miss Florence Dudley, an actress, in a taxi-cab on September 30.
A dramatic scene occurred when the sentence was passed. The prisoner wept in the dock and declared that the affair was purely accidental.
Hopwood was in a taxi-cab with Mies Dudley, in Fencliurch-street on September 30 when the latter was shot dead. He was arrested shortly afterwards whilst attempting' to commit suicide. Homyood, who is a married man with two children, was recently managing director of Commerce, Limited, a company, registered with a capital of £2000 in £1 shares, of which he received 1500 fully paid in. consideration of his floating the company. Juet before the tragedy the shareholders, passed, a resolution for winding up, and Hopwood was asked to forward the books to the liquidator. Miss DudleyV age was 26. She was a widow with one child.
