With a fine sun overhead. Saturdav seemed to the general public to partame of l • the nature of a Hummer day, but a touch of a boisterous northerly made the harbour waters a bit choppy at A.ro baths. However, the outer unrest did not affect'i the water, and a large crowd attended the/' swimming carnival to see the crack Aus-'. tralians at work. Following are.the results SOYds Handicap: Cookson (45.), i;.Murrell (65.), 2; Francis (Bs.), 3. Time, 27e. Solo-V mons, from scratch, was only two; yards off -V the winner, his time being given at 27e. ■ IOOYds Handicap: Brice (55.), 1; Orowther f (13s), 2; Solomons (sot.). 3.
