MANUREWA.

HAND OF HOPE SOCIAL.

The Band of Hope hold its closing meeting for the session on Wednesday evening, in the Public Hall. The Rev. Ilowe presided. Games were indulged in, interspersed with songs, recitations, and music, by the following ladies and gentlemen: — Mrs. Leonard, Misses Exton, Craig, and Warlich, Messrs. P. Leonard, R. Leonard, Geinmcll, Spencer, Ilorsfall, and Bodle. There was a large gathering, especially of voung people, and a pleasant timo was spent. The session has been very successful. The Telegraph Department has commenced work in connection with the establishment of a telephone bureau in the district.
