BANQUET TO THE HON. J. ALLEN.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION".] Kaitangata, Thursday. To-day was a red-letter day in Kaitangata. Tho placo was visited during the afternoon by three Ministers of the Crown, the Hon. J. Allen, tho Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, and Hon. Dr. Pomare, and flags and bunting were flying in the principal streets to mark tho auspicious occasion. At half-past two Mr. Rhodes opened the new post office in tho township, and in the evening Mr. Allen was entertained at a banquet by his constituents of Kaitangata and tho surrounding districts.
