IF PARLIAMENT AFFIRMS PRINCIPLE. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. .London,. December 4. In a speech at a suffrage meeting last night Sir J. A. Simon (SolicitorGeneral) said that the Prime -Minister (Mr. Asquith) had promised not to oppose the deliberate decision of the House of Commons in regard to female franchise. If the Franchise Bill, he said, were amended by the inclusion of provision for votes for women the new clause would be adopted by the Government.
