CROQUET. .
WAITEMATA CROQUET CLUB. A pleasing function took place at the residence of Mrs. J. E. Bethwaite, Northcote, on Wednesday afternoon, when the members of the Waitemata Ladies' Croquet Club assembled for the purpose of making- a presentation of a silver jewel casket to Mrs. B. van Veen, in recognition of her services as secretary of the club last season. The presentation was made by the president (Mrs. P. W. Holland), on behalf of the members. Mrs. Van Veen .suitably replied thanking the members for their token of esteem.
