«> [BY telegraph.--press association.] Wellington. Monday. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Chess Association was held to-night. The following officers were elected— Sir Joseph Ward; president, Hon. T. Mackenzie. Vice-presidents: North Island, upper division Wingfield and Messrs Grierson and Barends; North Island, lower division Messrs. Krummer, Pleasants, and Petherick; South Island, upper divisionMessrs. Thornhill Cooper, G. Wood, and C. Juncon; South Island, lower divisionMessrs. G. Brown, H. J. Armstrong, and the president of the Oamaru Chess Club. Secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. G. Fell.
