Hickson did well while his strength lasted, but after the second set his energy was spent, and the three remaining sets went to Abbott with only the expense of five games. By the aid of .a powerful American serve, the doctor was able to adopt forcing tactics in tho last three sets, and most of his aces were won by crisp volleying and hard smashing. Several other finals in connection with i.ho Remuera club's tourney were completed last Saturday, and the following ■ are, the results: Ladies' championship singles: Miss Barstow beat Miss Kerr-Taylor, 6— —5. Ladies' handicap singles Miss Barstow beat Miss Commons, 4—6, 6—4, 97. Ladies' handicap doubles: Mrs. Woollor and Miss Commons beat Misses Hesketh. I—6, 6— 6—4. Men's handicap singles (second grade) : ' Robinson beat Alexander, 6—l, 6—3.... It is the intention of the Waverley Club (Taranaki) to send a team on tour through the North Island next season, to play matches with the leading clubs in the" chief centres. Wallace, Dickie, Wybourne, and other crack players will probably bo included in the team. Tho visitors can rely on a warm welcome from Aucklanders, who are at all times pleased to have such excellent players in their midst. i The Parnell club's lawns will be closed after this aftenoon's play. The prizes won in . the club's tournament will bo presented by Professor Sogar during the aiternoon, and Mrs. Segar will entertain the club members to afternoon tea. - The following aro further results of the West End club's tournament:—Men's championship . singles (semi-final): Dr. Keith defeated Snelling, 6—2, 62. Men's handicap singles: A grade (semi-final) Fee (owes 15) beat Mackv (owes 15), , 6—2. 3—6, 6—3. B grade (final)— Alison (scratch) beat Dickeson (owes 15), 6— 6—5. Ladies' handicap singles: Miss Nelson, (owes 15) beat Miss Moore (owes 40), 9— Mrs. Bernardi (scratoh) beat Miss "Duder (rec. £ 15), 9 —3. Combined ' handicap doubles (final): Dr. and Mrs. Keith (owe 50) beat Alison and Miss Bagnall (scratch), 5—6, 6—5, 6—3. All matches up to the finals must bo completed, this aiternoon or competitors will be scratched. The club's season will close next Saturday. The Auckland club's singles final will 'be contested by Snelling and Webster. The latter defeated Goldsmith in the semi-final in straight sets, and on present form should win the final. The final of the handicap doubles was played last Saturday, a.nd after a very close game Goldsmith and J. H. Martin (owe 30) beat Snelling and Saunders (owe 40), 4—6, 6—3. B—6. The courts will probably be closed aftor to-day. j Mrs. Cooper, of the Devonport club, has presented a prize to bo competed for amongst the second grade lad" players, and the final will take place next Saturday afternoon, after which the club Will close down for the season.

Hunt in the final' to-day. Ladies' championship doubles (final): Mrs. Brown and Mis« G.'Gorrio 'bent Mrs. Mueller and Mrs. Watson. 6—2, 61. Ladies' championship sinerles (finals): Miss G. Gorrio beat Miss Hull, 6—2. 6—4 •
