[BY TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Wednesday. The City Council to-night adopted a proposal, having for its object an amalgamation of all the local bodies exercising functions in the city area into cue central authority, and a wide extension of the city boundaries. The matter was referred to a. special committee to go into the proposal and report.
