At a meeting of the Waterside Unions it was decided to remain on strike* The Miners' Union will take a ballot to decide whether they will sign the employers* proposed agreement, which provides for the resumption of the old conditions, ex-. ceptipg that the men must give a fortnight's notice before leaving work. The-Employers' Federation reports that the labour offering through the free- labour bureau will supply all requirements. THE SHIPPING DISPUTES. IN DANGER OF SPREADING. The Commonwealth steamship owners have represented to' the- Arbitration Court that the dispute which has occurred in Queensland and Sydney in connection with inter-State shipping is in grave danger of spreading to other parts of the Commonwealth.
