An amendment was moved in- ■ structing the overseer to draw up plans ' i and specifications for tlm spending of the grant as dictated by the Public Works D<fc I partment. On the amendment being put, . the voting was equal, Messrs. Lowrv, ;f Currie, and Lovcday (chairman) voting for, and Messrs. Kelly, Risk, and Saadison against. Tho chairman refused. to ,- exercise his casting vote, and Messrs. ' Sandison, Risk, and Kelly left the table, I and shortly afterwards each wrote out hi» .? resignation, and handed it to the chairman.
