TERRITORIALS IN CAMP
MEN'S CONDUCT PRAISED.
[BY TELEGRAM.— OWN- COnafespojfDElT.] Whangami, Monday. ' The Fifteenth Regiment camp at Kenshig, ton Park has proved a great success. There aro 530 men under canvas, as follows:— Company, Captain Prpctor 64 of all ranks; B Company, Captain Main, 139 of all ranks ; C Company, Cap. tain Wyatt, 107 of all ranks; D Company Lieutenant Blundcil, 49 of all ranks- g Company, Lieutenant Duthio, 52 of'all ranks; F Company, Captain Bayley, 35 0 f all ranks ; G Company, Captain Denniston 41 of all ranks H Company, Captain Bart' left, 36 of all ranks. The men. from Devonport, Helensville and Warkworth arrived by the Waiotahi last Wednesday night, and immediately entrained for tho camp. The detachment! from further North arrived by train late on the same evening, and the Wairoi ma? marched into camp late in tho afternoon of the same day. The men from Devonport, Helensville and Warkworth arrived by the Waiotahi last Wednesday night, and immediately entrained for tho camp. Colonel Steadmaa it in command, with Major Stevenson, of Auckland, as regimental major. The haviour of the men has been exemplary. Lieutenant-Colonel Parkes, P.M.O inspected the camp this morning, and expressed himself as exceedingly pleased with the whole organisation. Concerning the sanitary arrangements, he remarked that he had seen no camp with hotter, tin! that they reflected the greatest credit upon those responsible for the health pi the men. , -. :..'.■-■;<."., jl
This morning at about 10.45 o'clock: Colonel Heard, I.G.S. (director of- staff duties and military teaming), arrived at the camp, and after inspecting, the. tents and the general arrangements, reviewed the whole regiment in the large parade ground. At tho conclusion of the mspee-i tion - the colonel delivered an a address! Considering the fact that the men Were : new to camp routine, he said- he was greatly struck by th.& general orderliness and cleanliness of tho camp. About this latter feature, he said/he could not'speak too strongly, as upon the cleanliness of the camp depended vitally the health ef the mem He urged them all to foster such an esprit de corps aii would never leave them content till they were the best regiment in the Dominion. To do this they must repose ©very confidence in their:superior officers, and try to make their tasks the lighter. Ho commended the I men on their general steadiness, a quality which was the first sign of a good soldier. Camp will be struck on Thursday morn-* ing. ;' •. ; v
