YACHTING. ROYAL NEW ZEALAND SQUADRON. CRUISING RACE TO KAWAKAWA. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron held a cruising race on Saturday, the course being from off the Queen-street Wharf, round the Sunday Rock in Waiheke Passage, to Kawakawa. Eleven yachts—Ariki, Ilex, Rawene, irarangi, Waione. Ngatira, Kotiri, Aorere, Thistle, Cloud, and Daisy—had entered, and all started. Ariki >:iished first, with Ilex second, Maran'gi third, Raweno fourth, Waione fifth, and the others close up. On handicaps, however, Ngatira is placed first, Marangi second. Thistlo third, and Kotiri fourth VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB. The Victoria Club resailed its class races on Saturday afternoon. The successful yachts, on corrected times, were:— First-class Yachts: Waitemata, 20m,, 1; Zealandia. 13m., 2; Speedwell, 5m., 3. Second-class: Glady, 9m., 1; Waitiri, 10m.. 2: Sadie, scratch, 3. Third-class: Waima, 4m., 1; Puawanga, 5m., 2; Hilda, 5m., 3. Fourth-class: Npairo, scratch, 1; Eileen, 5m., 2; Rio, 7m.. 3. Fifth-class: Mistral, ljm., 1; Sceptre, Urn., 2. Mascot did not finish. Launch Race (over seven knots): Princess, scratch, 1; Waimumu. 13m. 445., 2; Ruth. 14 m. 5;,, 3. Launch Race (under seven knots): Meteor lm., 1; Leisure Hour, 13m., 2. Constance did not start.
