AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON

[BT TELEGRAPH.OWN" COP-RESPONDENT.] Wellington*, Friday. At to-night's meeting of the Royal Choral Society Mr. J. Maughan Barnett outlined a reciprocal proposal which originated .with Mr. Henry Brett, of Auckland, whereby the Wellington society propose to job with the Auckland Choral Society in the performance of certain choral works in Auckland and Wellington. Die proposal was received with great enthusiasm, and Mr. R. T. Caldow moved : 'That this meeting views with much titvour the scheme outlined by Mr. Barn?tt as a, result. of. several interviews with Mr. Henry Brett, of Auckland, in regard to a combined festival by the Auckland and Wellington Choral Societies, and that jt Dr. an instruction from this meeting to |no committee to take the necessary stops «> forward the matter." Die motion was passed amidst great enthusiasm.
