PUBLIC BUILDINGS BURNED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL CO-RESPONDENT.] Wellington, Thursday. Tire estimated value of public buildings destroyed by fire during the last 10 years was stated to-day by. the Hon. R. McKenzie to be £57,637. Mr. Massey asked if that included school buildings. The Minister said it did not. Mr. Massey: The school buildings alone destroyed by fire would reach about that sum. The estimated amount that wotdd have been paid for insurance during that period was stated by the Minister to be £90,000, not including school and railway buildings.
