HEROIC MAIL CARRIERS.
According to Dr. Woolnough, who recently travelled through the Northern Territory, amongst the heroes of Australia are the mailmen of that little-known land. They drive the mail across the 80-mile dry stages twice * month, and ho wondered how .they got through without many more accidents than take place. Nothing is heard of them by the outside world unless the mail is delayed or a fatality takes place on the route.
