GISBORNE BAND CONTEST.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ► Gisborne, Friday. Tb:e first of the visiting bands for next week's contest, which is being held under the auspices of the North Island Brass Band Association, arrive in Gisborne to-morrow morning, when the Westport Garrison arid the Wanganui City Bands are expected by the Southern steamer. On arrival at the wharf the bandsmen will be welcomed by the Gisborne City Band and local officials.
