YOUNG MAN'S FATAL FALL.
WHEEL OF BICYCLE GIVES WAY. A distressing accident happened in Remuera Road yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a man named Ernest Anger, 34 years of age, receiving injuries which resulted fatally. The unfortunate man was proceeding down the road at a ; good pace on his bicycle, when suddenly the front wheel of the machine became detached, and he was thrown forward heavily on his face. He sustained sevVe injuries about the head, and ore of his jaws was broken. The injured man was taken, to the hospital while in an unconscious condition. In spile of every attention he never recovered consciousness, and succumbed to his injuries shortly after 12 o'clock this morning. Auger was employed at Pukekohe, and had come into town with the idea of spending the Christmas holidays with his parents, who reside at Parnell. An inquest will probably be held to-day by the Coroner (Mr. T. Gresham).
