The Canadian Pacific Railway Company's steamer Tees, which went ashore, is not in a dangerous position and the passengers,have landed. The tugs are standing by. The failure of wireless communication, after the i first message summoning aid, was due to high cliffs interrupting the etheric waves. FLOATING CASES SIGHTED. (Received December 5, 12.45 a.m.) Sydney, December 4. The captain of the steamer Kapunda reports passing floating cases, apparently full of merchandise, for nearly an hour, off Kiama, on the south coast. They ap- . peared to have been not long in the water. ABANDONMENT OF LAKEMBA. THROWN ON .TO HER BEAM ENDS. Sydney, December 4. The barque Ketty has arrived at Newcastle with the crow of the abandoned barque Lakemba. The captain of the latter stated that cn October 9 the vessel met a heavy gale, accompanied by enormous seas, and had to bo hove-to. During the night tlie sand ballast shifted, and she heeled over on to her.beaip ends.. . The crew worked hard to right her for two days, and then tho Ketty hove' in sight, and the Lakemba's captain decided to abandon his ship, as it was hopeless to attempt to save tho Lnkemba. She was still floating when ho left her, but ho was of opinion that she would soon fill and sink.
