A meeting of the Steamship Owners' 1 Association will be held shortly to! disi cuss the Federal Arbitration Court's sea-f men's award (which will,- it'is estimated, cost employers an extra £39,000 a year).'* A leading shipowner declared that owners have no alternative but to accept the award. It will bo very awkward and difficult to conduct discipline under the new conditions, if practicable at all. Another shipowner states that a proi bable result will be the raking of and fares.
