STRIKE AGAINST SOLDIERING.
THE TRADES DISPUTES ACT.

London, November 27. A conference held at Bradford, representing 100,000 Yorkshire trades unionists, protested against any attempt to repeal the Trades Disputes Act, and condemned the use of the military.in strikes and the establishment of the proposed counterpicketing constabulary. Some of the speakers declared that the repeal of the Act would result in a revolution The railwaymen would immediately strike. It was suggested that members of unions who belong to the Territorial Force should resign, and that workmen should refuse to join the army. If workingmen kept their sons out of the army, the ruling classes would be beaten. MINIMUM WAGE FOR MINERS. SEVEN SHILLINGS A DAY. London, November 26. After several conferences the miners of Warwickshire obtained a minimum wage of 7s, with proportionate increases in the lower grades. Mr. W. Johnson (Labour member for Nuneaton division of Warwickshire) said that if an equally good arrangement could be made throughout the country there would be no national strike. UNIONISM IN MEAT INDUSTRY. (P.eceiyed November 27, 10.55 p.m.) Sydney, November 27. v An Australasian Meat Industry Employees' Union has been formed. The membership already is 6000. Negotiations are proceeding with other kindred unions to • join. RAILWAY AND TRAMWAY WANTS (Received November 28. 12.50 a.m.) Sydney, November 27. The Railwayman's and Tramwaymcn's Association of New South Wales (where railways and tramways are both Government services) waited on the State Premier to-day and pressed their claims for eight shillings and eight hours per day. Mr. McGowcn in reply said he favoured placing (hem on the same standard of wages as outsiders. Ho anticipated that they would benefit by the Eight Hours Bill, which ho would introduce next session.
