MEETINGS.
GIRL PEACE SCOUTS. A : very pleasant little meeting was held: by the Ponsonby troop of the Girl Peace Scouts on . Saturday. last in All Saints', schoolroom, to bid farewell for a time, to Scout Queenie ' Laidlaw , -' who is-' going to' England .on ; a visit. ; There was a large muster of scouts, . under Scoutmistreea Ingall, and Mrs* Bedford (president) presided, : and ; presented the I little traveller with her'; second-class ' badge ■. and several little souvenirs from; her : friends.-.; Miss Bastori," from Ohinewai/was present, also the district secretary, Miss Statham, who said a' letter \ had been; received from Colonel Cosegrove,. saying .■-. that -he and Miss Cossgrove, . headquarters > secretary, had been spending a pleasant time visiting the' scouts in Dunedin and district. They had assembled in largo numbers to; welcome them, and it is hoped they ; will shortly visit Auckland to awaken more interest here. , A pleasing feature of the afternoon was a letter received from Scout Laidlaw's mother, speaking in the warmest terms of the movement, and wishing .it every success. The proposed camp was talked over, and arrangements are*being made to make it a success. '• V . FORESTERS' MEETING. - ( ' Court City of Auckland, No. .3978, A. 0.F., met- last evening \in • the Foresters* Hall,■: Edinburgh-street. ; There was a very- ■ largo attendance, every court in ; and around Auckland being represented. Bro. A. G. Baddiley, P.D.C.R., presided. The district executive, under District: C.R. Bro. R. DarlaWj were present, arid tha medical officers were < represented by. Bros., Drs. Inglis and Goldstein. The chief business of the evening was the initiation into the Court arid Order of the Hon. Georg* Fowlds, Mr. Arthur Myers, i,; and :':■. Mr,; Alfred •;Adams.; i The ceremony was ably conducted by the chief ranger (Bro. Bad*: diley), v assisted by" the D.C.R.
