At a Special Meeting of Members, held on ' November 21. 1911, it was decided to endorse the resolution unanimously passed at. the Dominion No-License Convention, in Wellington last June, which was representative of the 76 electorates:— Resolved: "That this" Conference reaffirms the principle, of simple majority in licensing legislation it maintains the equal value of every vote: it condemns as unjust and intolerable the three-fifths handicap, which has , obtained for 17 years; and it urges electors to refuse to vote for candi- ;. dates who support the three-fifths j majority." A copy of the above was forwarded to the candidates for the three city seats, and the undermentioned are the only ones who have replied that they will support the Democratic Principle of Rule by Majority: — MR.
