HOMING.
The Auckland Flying Club held tl« eighth race of the' season from Wellington on Saturday. The airline distance is about 307 miles. One hundred birds, representing 15 lofts, competed. They were liberated at tAx a.m., and the first bird homo covered the distance in Vh. 52m., arriving at 1.52 p.m. The result of the race was as follows :—C Johnson's b c hen Epsom Lass, velocity 11 38yds per minute, 1; H. Hill's bee Curio King, 1134vds, 2; R. Martin's be Blue Rock. 1133.7yd5, 3; H. Stowell's bo hen Kapua, 1133.5yd5, 4; R. R. Widdows's b hen Overtime, 1132vds, 5; W. Chin's red c c Lime Juice, 1128 yds, 6 Mr. Johnson secures the l clubs trophy, and a medal presented by Mr. A. M. Myere, president of the cluU.
