WAIHI. £46,113 FROM 26,494 TONSTOTAL TO DATE, £9,684,419. TnE Waihi Gold Mining Company, during the four-weekly period ended October 28, crushed and treated 26,494 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £46,113. Compared with £69,834 the actual realisation of bullion won from 35,733 tons, for the corresponding period of last year, the present return shows a decrease of £23,721. OCCIDENTAL CONSOLIDATED. The following telegram from the manager of the Occidental mine was posted on the (Stock Exchange yesterday " Broke down reef; strong dabs of gold more showing under foot." The price of Occidental shares was slightly firmer yesterday. Sales were recorded at Is 8d to Is 7d to Is Bd, the closing offer (Is 8d) being 2d higher than that of the previous day. MOUNTAIN KING. The manager of the Mountain King mine (Kuaotunu) telegraphed yesterday : — "Strong blotches of. coarse gold showing in Mountain King ground, new low level." WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. The general manager of the Waihi Grand Junction mine forwarded the following cablegram to London yesterday —"In main crosscut south at No. 6 level, cut a reef at about 69ft. From point where reef intersected, 120 in assayed £3 2s 3d." TALISMAN. The manager of the Talisman mine reports :—No. 12 level : No. 4 north rise was started 1147 ft north of shaft; progress 29ft; width of reef 54in; values low. Stoping : The values from stopes off No. .12 rise average £3, tons sent to mill 795; the values from No. 3 North Block stopes average £3 17s Bd, tons sent to mill 200. No. 13 level : The south drive has been advanced • 53ft; total 1586 f t; width of reef 66in; values average £1 19s 2d. The No. 6 winze has been sunk 12ft; total 134 f t; width of reef 48in; values average £16 Is 4d. No. 12 winze : The north, drive off No. 12 winze has been advanced 19ft; total 350 ft; width of reef 36in; values average £1 7s 3d. The south drive off No. 12 winze has been advanced 16ft; total 354 ft; width of reef 48in; values low. No. 15 rise (from south drive) has been advanced 13ft; total 26ft; width of reef 42in; values average £4 Bs. Stoping: The .values from stopes off No. 5 rise average £1 12s 7d; tons sent ' to mill 200. The values from stopes off No. 12 . rise average £1 16s 3d; tons sent to mill .270. . [jit TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Friday. At the fortnightly sitting of the Thames Warden's Court held to-day, the following applications were dealt with —Tairua Dreadnought, Limited, for six months' protection for the Phoenix Extended special claim; R. 13. Thomson, six months protection for the Great Mexican special claim; Phoenix Gold Mining Company, six months protection for the Phoenix special claim—these three applications, which had been considered at a previous sitting of the Court, and recommended to the Minister, wero to-day finally granted with the Minister's consent as from November 3. A. McLoughlin, residence site license at. Waikawau, granted subject to its being outside the limit of one chain from the bank of the river; Monowai Gold Mining Company, residence site license at Waiomio, granted; S. Boord, six months' protection for the May Queen (south) special claim, granted; Monowai Gold Mining Company, certificate of reduction for the Gem and Crown special claim, to work with two- men for six months, granted ; Tairua Golden Hills Gold Mining Company, six months' protection for certificate of easement and three special sites, and certificate ol reduction for the Golden Run and Tairua Golden Hills special claims, granted for nine men each for the first three months, and 15 men each for the succeeding three months. The application by the Watchman Gold Mining Company for a license for a machine site and water-race was further adjourned to the 24th instant to allow of til. warden visiting the locality and making a personal inspection. A plaint by the Thames Drainage Board against A. Hanna for £65 arrears of drainage contribution on account of the Shortland Flats claim was decided in favour of the Board with costs., COROMANDEL WARDEN'S COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CO3RKSPON~>VNT. J Coromandel, Friday. ' At the Warden's Court to-day, before Mr. F. J. Burgess (warden), the following applications were granted :—Old Kapanga Gold Mining' Company, permission to work the West Kapanga special quartz claim with 2 men for six months; Four-in-hand Gold Mining Company, permission to work the Four-in-hand special quartz claim with two men for six months; Royal Oak Gold Mining Company, six months' protection for the Royal Oak special quartz claim and special site; Old Hauraki Gold Mining Company, amalgamation of. Hauraki and Golden Pah special claims, DREDGING RETURNS. [by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Friday. The following dredging returns are to hand:—Electric 1., 106oz 14dwt; Karaunui, 370z 13dwt; Masterton, 31oz 14dwt; Electric 11., 30oz 15dwt; Koputai, 17oz; Waikaia, lloz Bdwt; Mystery Flat, Boz 4dwt. NOTES. The report in yesterday's Herald giving the distance to drive to cut the footwall dropper in the Waiotahi mine as 10ft was a mistake in transmission of the telegram. The distance to the drive should have been 80ft.
